NOTES AND CARDS OF THANKS FROM THE RESCUERS

Last month we wrote about our Christmas awards for the rescuers.  In November/December 2022, the JFR sent each JFR supported Righteous Gentile a special award of $3,000 for the purchase of food during the Christmas holiday season, for home heating fuel, and for medications. Here is a link to several thank you letters from rescuers.  We thank you for helping to make the holidays a little brighter for the rescuers.

JFR 2023 ADVANCED SEMINAR

Our Advanced Seminar was held over Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend.  We welcomed 21 Alfred Lerner Fellows from across the country. Our four scholars, Dr. Nicholas Coddington; Professor Peter Hayes, Professor Paul Hanebrink, and Professor Jeffrey Veidlinger, were outstanding! The book we are recommending this month was one of the assigned readings at the Advanced Seminar.

JFR MOURNS THE PASSING OF MICHAEL MARRUS

We mourn the passing of Michael Marrus, a globally renowned Holocaust scholar, on December 23, 2022.  Michael was a good friend of the JFR and gave the keynote lecture at the JFR’s first Summer Institute in June 2000.  Michael lectured at the SIT for years.  May Michael’s memory be a blessing.  Here is a link to his obituary.
