Applications for the 2020 Advanced Seminar, which is January 18 – 20, 2020, will be sent out by the middle of September. The program will be at the Hilton Newark Airport. At the present time, our scholars are Robert Jan van Pelt and Paul Salmons. We are in the process of inviting additional scholars. If you are interested in attending, please let Stanlee know at [email protected]. Remember, letting Stanlee know you are interested does not reserve your spot in the program. The participant fee will be $400.
We are working on the 2020 European Study Program. Our plans for the summer of 2020 have changed. We are going to Germany and Poland. This is the Study Program we have been offering since 2003 and will take place in early July. We will be in Munich, Nuremberg, Weimar, Berlin, Warsaw, Krakow, and Oswiecim. If you are interested in participating in this Study Program, please email Stanlee at [email protected].

May the New Year, for those who celebrate, be sweet and happy! And for those who do not celebrate, we wish you sweetness and happiness in the upcoming twelve months!
In July, several Alfred Lerner Fellows, Steven Field, M.D., JFR Board Member, and Stanlee Stahl, JFR Executive Vice President, had the opportunity to make several home visits to rescuers in Budapest, Hungary. In our August 2019 e-newsletter, we featured Aunt Katy, one of the rescuers we visited in Budapest. In this month’s e-newsletter, we are featuring sisters, Maria and Zsuzsa Farkas, whom we also visited in Budapest. While we were there, Dr. Field and Maria’s husband, a retired physician, even discussed some medical cases.
If your travel takes you to northern New Jersey, please come and visit! For our Lerner Fellow in the northern part of New Jersey, we would love to have you visit and perhaps volunteer if you have the time. We are right off of Route 280 and a few minutes from the Garden State Parkway. There is lots of free parking at our building.
We are having problems with our telephone number. If you dial 1-212-727-9955 and you receive a message saying that the number is no longer working – we are here and the number does work, just not for everyone. So please dial 1-212-727-2383.
Please consider writing a short piece on what you are doing in your classroom. Sharing ideas, teaching methodologies and approaches is one of the purposes of the eNewsletter. Many of you have called and emailed me about your projects and classrooms activities. The Alfred Lerner eNewsletter is a perfect venue to share what you are doing with others.
