Effective July 1, 2018, the JFR will be located in West Orange, NJ. Our new address will be:
The Jewish Foundation for the Righteous
80 Main Street, Suite 380
West Orange, New Jersey 07052
Our email and website will remain the same. We will update you on our telephone and fax numbers when we have them.
We may have to change our captioned heading from “News from the 19th Floor” to “News from the 3rd Floor”. We shall see – let us know your thoughts!
Since we are moving to smaller space we are looking to give away part of our library and educational materials. If you are interested in exploring what we are looking to part with, please email Stanlee Stahl at [email protected]. We are not in a position to ship books or educational materials – so if you are in the New York City area – you may find items you would like to have.
The JFR’s 2018 Haggadah Supplement features Polish rescuer, Paulina Plaksej. The supplement is available on our website. Click here for a copy of the 2018 Haggadah Supplement.
At the 2017 Summer Institute for Teachers, the JFR taped a number of the lectures. Each month we are going to feature one lecture from a scholar who presented at the 2017 Summer Institute for Teachers. This month we are posting Professor Volker Berghahn’s Lecture. Click here to see the video. Professor Berghahn presented on chapter one of How Was It Possible? A Holocaust Reader – “The Context”. Professor Berghahn addressed the inter-war period.
Gene Woods, JFR Alfred Lerner Fellow 2016, just completed an outstanding project with his students using the JFR’s Poster Set on Rescue. Gene teaches history and the Holocaust at Bayonne High School in Bayonne, NJ.
Below is information on the project from Mr. Woods.
Stanlee received a warm Texas welcome when the JFR traveling exhibit on rescue opened at the Public Library in Georgetown, Texas, on Sunday, March 18 2018. Stanlee provided docent training prior to the opening of the exhibit and presented on Saturday evening for Congregation Havurah Shalom and for the public on Sunday afternoon. If you are in the Georgetown, Texas area, please do stop by the library. The exhibit will be up through April 18, 2018.
If you change names, home address, telephone numbers, emails – please do let us know so we can keep your record current.
