The JFR dinner was Monday, December 3, 2018 at the New York Public Library. The evening was special as the JFR award-winning documentary Footsteps of My Father was screened at the dinner. Two Jewish POWs, Sonny Fox and Lester Tanner were at the dinner as were family members. Click here to see more photos from the dinner.

ROBERT I. GOLDMAN AWARD PRESENTED TO MAUREEN CARTER

Maureen Carter (Lerner Fellow 2004) received the Robert I. Goldman Award for Excellence in Holocaust Education at the dinner. Maureen is the Kindergarten through 12^th grade coordinator for Holocaust education for the Palm Beach County School District, Florida. Ms. Carter is responsible for ensuring that the Holocaust is taught in Palm Beach County schools. Ms. Carter is supported by her local Holocaust center, inSight Through Education located in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.

#GIVINGTUESDAY HELPS RESCUERS!

Thanks to the generosity of many, the JFR will be sending each JFR supported rescuer an additional award of $1,500 for the purchase of food, home heating fuel, and medications during the 2018 Christmas holiday. Thank you for your support of the rescuers!

JFR 2019 ADVANCED SEMINAR

We are gearing up for the 2019 Advanced Seminar and are looking forward to welcoming our Lerner Fellows at the Hilton Newark Airport on January 19, 2019. The scholars are outstanding!
Paul Salmons will be coming from London to present on teaching the Holocaust through artifacts. Paul is working with the JFR on our Artifact Box project.

VOLUNTEER IN THE JFR OFFICE OR FROM AFAR

We are looking for volunteers to help in our new office. If you live near West Orange, NJ and would like to come in and help, we could use extra hands opening our Hanukkah direct mail from now through the end of January 2019. We are located at 80 Main Street, West Orange, NJ. Our building has a very large parking lot.

If you do not live close, we are always looking for help in translating from Polish and Russian to English and from English to Polish and Russian.
