Twenty-three Alfred Lerner Fellows attended the 2019 Advanced Seminar. Our scholars were outstanding! We welcomed two new scholars to the JFR – Paul Salmons from London and Joseph Benatov from the University of Pennsylvania. Paul will be teaching at the 2019 Summer Institute for Teachers.
We would like to thank inSight Through Education in Palm Beach Gardens, FL for inviting Stanlee Stahl to participate in their program “Let’s Stand Together Against Hate” on January 31, 2019. Professor Peter Hayes also presented at the program.
Stanlee also taught in several classrooms while in Florida. We would like to thank Bogdan Paraschivoiu, JFR Alfred Lerner Fellow, for welcoming Stanlee Stahl into his middle school Holocaust elective at Omni Middle School in Boca Raton, FL.
The JFR Traveling exhibit on rescue will be at Bet Shalom Congregation in Minnetonka, MN from March 3 to April 5, 2019. If you are in the area, please consider visiting the synagogue to view the exhibit.
On March 3, 2019, Bet Shalom Congregation is hosting a concert to benefit The Jewish Foundation for the Righteous. Sharon Isbin, a noted guitarist, will be performing. If you are interested in having the JFR traveling exhibit Whoever Saves a Single Life…Rescuers of Jews During the Holocaust in your community, please contact Stanlee at [email protected]. The exhibit, which opened at the United Nations, is perfect for small venues. The exhibition consists of eight panels on four freestanding structures. Each panel narrates stories of rescue during the Holocaust, punctuated by striking images and portraits of the rescuers and survivors.
