As we give thanks this year, let us remember to thank and take care of the men and women who risked their lives to save Jews during the Holocaust – non-Jews who refused to be passive in the face of the evil they witnessed. Now elderly and in financial need, help us to make their Christmas holiday a little brighter. Each December the JFR raises funds to send a special award to our rescuers for the purchase of food at Christmas. Our goal this year is $25,000 – help us reach this goal. Please consider making a gift of $36.00 or more. Click here to donate now.

During the past several weeks, we were notified of the deaths of two rescuers, Wladyslaw Misiuna from Poland and Olympiada Danilyantz from Ukraine.
Professor Misiuna died on October 2, at the age of 97. In 2010, the JFR reunited Wladyslaw with the one of the five women he saved during the Holocaust. Here is a link to the JFR award-winning documentary on Wladyslaw Misiuna. The JFR started supporting Professor Misiuna in June 1990.
Below is an email from the granddaughter of Olympiada Danilyantz informing us of the death of her grandmother. Olympiada would have been 100 on December 2. The JFR starting supporting Olympiada in October 1991.
Good afternoon! I must tell you the bad news – after a long illness on September 29, 2022, my grandmother died – Righteous Among the Nations Olympiada Danilyantz. Thank you very much for your attention and help.
From, Irina Petrova
