News from the 19th Floor

We continue to hear from rescuers.  Here is a photo of Brone from Lithuania and her great granddaughter.  Goda writes,

“I am sending you a photo with BRONE JURGILIENE.  Thank you for your support for my great grandmother. We are grateful to you ❤️”

Brone will be 99 this December.  She was recognized by Yad Vashem in 1998 and the JFR began supporting Brone in September 1998. To read Brone’s rescue story, click here.

The JFR mourns the passing of Melpomeni Gianopoulou Dina, a righteous gentile from Greece.  Melpomeni was 95 when she passed away on September 24, 2022. Melpomeni’s story was told in the JFR’s 2019 award-winning documentary, Village of Angels, where she was reunited with two of the Jewish children, now adults, she helped save.  Click here to watch the documentary and to read her rescue story.

For the past thirty years, the JFR has worked closely with the Polish Society for the Righteous.  This is the Rosh Hashanah wishes sent to the JFR from the Polish Society for the Righteous.

A very important holiday is approaching, in which we the Righteous want to participate.

On these festive days, we wish you good health, prosperity and success in such a responsible work for us.

We want to see you always smiling, happy and joyful.

Thank you very much.

The Board of the Polish Society of the Righteous Among the Nations
