The Life of Roman Kent

Roman Kent was born in Lodz, Poland in 1925.  He spent the war years in the Lodz ghetto and in the Auschwitz, Mertzbachtal, Dornau, and Flossenburg concentration camps.  In 1946, he came to the United States with his brother.  Once in America, he made a life for himself.  He championed the needs of Holocaust survivors and of Righteous Gentiles.

Roman was appointed by President Obama to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Council, he became president of The Jewish Foundation for the Righteous, Treasurer of the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany, Chairman of the American Gathering of Jewish Holocaust Survivors, and President of the International Auschwitz Committee. Roman passed away on May 21, 2021.
