Reunion 2008

A Story of Moral Courage

Turka, Poland… Fall 1942 – When the Germans invaded Poland, Rozia Seifert and her father, aunt, and cousin had nowhere to go. They were strangers, but Wiktoria and her family agreed to hide them. Wiktoria and her family built an underground hiding place in their barn where the Seiferts remained for two years. Despite being arrested and interrogated by the Germans, Wiktoria never betrayed the Seiferts. Though they considered each other sisters, Wiktoria and Rozia had not seen one another since 1945. The JFR reunited them in 2008.
